Renewable Energy
A Systems Approach
At WynTec we always strive to reduce your energy use before sizing, selecting, and installing an alternative energy solution;
- Reduce the heating and cooling loads
- Improve the efficiency of electric appliances and lighting
- Consider the best renewable energy technology
We know that cutting your energy demand in half results in an alternative energy system that is half the size, significantly lower in cost, and results in the best total value to the client. To that end we provide our clients with options for generating energy from the renewable resources around them whether its electricity or hot water.
Our products include:
Solar PV
Solar panels powered through photovoltaic technology have become common place. Advances in the materials that produce them are being made every day across the globe. Manufacturers have driven efficiencies into their processes such that the prices have dropped significantly in just the past two years.
WynTec provides its clients a complete solution, from site analysis, to system sizing, and installation and start up. In addition WynTec will provide a complete financial analysis including system pricing, federal and state incentives, and total payback and life cycle costs.

Solar Hot Water
In many homes heating hot water for showers, washing dishes, cleaning clothes and general use can account for 30% of your total utility bill.
Though the best Solar PV systems convert 17% of the sun’s energy into electricity most all Solar Hot Water systems convert 50% of the energy hitting them to hot water. Though a properly sized Solar Hot Water system will rarely provide 100% of your hot water needs it can have a significant impact on the amount of fossil fuel you use.
Some common applications for a Solar Hot Water system include:
- Domestic hot water heating
- Heating the swimming pool
- De-icing or melting snow from walkways and driveways
- Supplementing the hot water needed for radiant floor heating systems
Call WynTec and see how a Solar Hot Water system can help reduce your dependence on the utility and the fossil fuels it provides.
Wind Turbine Technology
WynTec believes that any one technology will not necessarily deliver the total solution to 100% of its clients, and therefore has added Wind Turbine technology to its portfolio.
Wind Turbines convert the Kinetic energy stored in the wind into power. Historically used in rural areas where electricity was not readily available or the need for ranchers to pump water out of the ground for their live stock.
During my travels to Australia trips through the Outback quickly left modern conveniences behind, including power lines. Cattle stations covering 100 square miles are common and the cattle left to free range. I was impressed with the number of pumping stations driven off the wind providing not only the cattle with water but kangaroo, dingo, and other wildlife. In the western United States a similar situation exists, a cool application of a natural resource … The Wind.
In today’s environment Wind Power technology has come a long way with much research ongoing on a global basis. Improvements in blade, generator, and control systems have made this a reliable alternative to other renewable energy systems.
As an example “Ducted Turbines” have made the news of late increasing the “effective” area of turbine and increasing efficiency at low wind speeds. These promise to provide adequate power at low tower heights, low noise levels, and without the need of a lot of real estate to place them.
As with Solar PV and Hot Water systems WynTec provide design to construction services for the client. Contact us for more information and if your location is ideal for this environmentally friendly technology.
Micro-Hydro Power Generation
Currently the State of New Hampshire has over 3,500 small to medium sized dams. Many of these have been abandoned from their original purpose though still provide the opportunity for hydropower generation.
Micro-Hydro systems are ideal for sites with lower head or flow conditions and will typically provide less than 50KWatts of energy. My home uses about 13KWhours per day and therefore would need a hydro-generator producing 540 Watts (0.54 KWatts). An average home will use 20 KWhours per day.
Depending on the head available to you (height change from where water is entering the pipe to where the generator is located) there are micro-hydro generators that will meet your needs. A complete micro-hyrdo system will includes:
- Site Evaluation, Design and Layout
- Permitting
- Hardware
- Penstock (piping and valve system)
- Hydro-generator
- Inverter and Control Center
- Installation, Connection, Testing and Certification
Call WynTec for information about the Micro-Hydro Systems we provide.
